Wedding Photo Books

This year, instead of buying individual gifts for our parents and grandparents, we are giving each couple a Shutterfly photo book filled with wedding pictures.

Have you ever ordered a Shutterfly book? This one took several hours to design. Just when you think a page is perfect, you find one small flaw and end up spending 20 minutes changing the layout. But the time spent was well worth it when we saw the books. They are beautiful!

Shutterfly seems to have a new sale every week, so there's no reason to pay full price for anything. Using online promo codes, I received more than 50% off my order.

Somehow our parents and grandparents found out about the photo books, but they haven't seen them yet. Here's a sneak peek:

Beautiful job Elly! We have used shutterfly but prefer mixbook. We think it is alot easier to use!

    1. I haven't heard of mixbook, but I'll have to try it when I design my next photo book. Just by looking at the website, it seems that they also have a lot of sales. Thanks!

Be sure to check the current promotions. I have gotten a 8x11 calendar, 2 greeting cards, & photo magnet free for the item cost, and only had to pay shipping.

I'm sorry, but I'm respectfully saying that that is cheapening out. For your parents and in-laws, sure, I think that's acceptable and even expected, however; for friends. I understand that as newlyweds, money is often tight, but in the spirit of the season, you aren't thinking of others, you are thinking of yourself by pinching pennies by not spending anything and by giving them photos of themselves. If they are friends and extended family, most people wouldn't really care to get a lengthy photobook of your wedding! Hope you read this because this is disgusting!!

? What?! That is a tough and critical comment! Personally I would cherish a nice photo book from one of my adult children if they chose to give me that as a Christmas gift. A gift is something that someone can afford to give, if it puts them into debt it is a terrible burden. To put a counter point to that comment I would like to say that it is that kind of stress and bitterness that makes me think these traditions are not necessary and should not be practised by people.

That's rude. Would you say that to Ellie's face? I hope not. Don't say it here, either.

Often older adults have got most things they need but a nice book like this would be a good gift for lots of reasons. For them to view, to share with others, to help others in the family plan their big days! Great idea in my opinion.

A photo book is a very thoughtful gift. It takes time to do it right. It's much better then buying a gift card or boring bath soaps. I do agree the photo books should have included pictures of many people, family and friends, so it's not just a book full of pictures of a wife & her husband. That is self centered. But maybe they were full of various photos of different people at the wedding & gatherings.

Ellie, you and Mr Handsome are as perfect as professional models, but to think you are a real couple makes the pictures wonderful and acceptable. Conflations on making a beautiful book!

What a great gift idea Ellie! It looks so nice. Someone who took our wedding pics made us a photo book . I just gave my parents a photo album and pics of our wedding , but I like your idea of a photo book better. But it does take a lot of time. We have made a few shutterfly books. Your parents and grandparents will love them. I hope y'all have a great Christmas.

I like the idea of a picture book, but giving a picture book to someone filled with pictures of yourself is kinda self-centered.

    1. Hi there,

I agree that a book filled with pictures of oneself would be self-centered. :)

The book I designed has pictures of everything, including detail shots, the wedding party, family photos, and snapshots of friends at the reception.

      Blessings,
      Ellie
