While at NRB 2016, I had the privilege of pre-screening the upcoming movie Miracles From Heaven, set to release in theaters on March 16.
Miracles From Heaven, a mainstream film by Sony Pictures Entertainment, features a number of big-name actors, including Jennifer Garner and Queen Latifah.
Based on the incredible true story of the Beam family, as recorded by mother-of-three Christy Beam in her book by the same title, Miracles From Heaven will have you laughing and crying along with the actors.
When Christy (Jennifer Garner) and her husband are told that their daughter Annabel (Kylie Rogers) has been diagnosed with two rare and incurable digestive disorders, they refuse to give up hope. Through this difficult journey, the Beams see their faith challenged and strengthened as they fight to remain grounded through the storm.
When Anna suffers a freak accident and is miraculously cured, the country’s top specialists are baffled and unable to find a medical explanation, but the Beam family knows the source of Anna’s healing.
My 14-year-old sister-in-law and I give this movie five stars. The high quality acting, the rich portrayal of the Beams’ story, and the enduring message of faith and family will appeal to all audiences. We encourage you to support this film in theaters, beginning next Wednesday.
At the premiere, we were thrilled to meet the real life Christy Beam and Rich Peluso, senior vice president of AFFIRM Films/Sony Pictures Entertainment.

It's already on my radar before I saw this post. I can't wait to see it! I hope the theatre will show closed captioning for this movie. If not, I will be disappointed and have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

Hi Leah,
Hope you are able to see the movie in closed caption. On the bright side, I think it's a movie that's worth owning, if you do end up having to wait until it comes out on DVD. 🙂

Ellie you have an interesting self directed, self motivated thing going on. You have met so many interesting people and shared so much, creating a sort of personalized celebrity connection for us. Thank-you, and it is you and your Mom too, bringing it all to our screens where ever we are. Keeping us in your big loops. You really are quite the gal! People would not know it to just meet you. But one of these days you will be a house hold word if you keep this up.

Sounds like a good view! Have you seen Soul Surfer? Similar type of story as Miracles From Heaven, about surfer Bethany Hamilton, who was in a shark accident while surfing and lost a limb…with God's help she was healed, and is now one of the top ranked surfers in the world. It's great, and is available on netflix
nashvillewife@gmail.com
I have seen Soul Surfer, and I really enjoyed it! I'm thrilled to hear that it's on Netflix. You're right, the stories are similar.

I couldn't find it on Netflix 🙁

Doesn't look like it's available for streaming on Netflix. I checked Amazon, and you can stream it for a $3.99 rental fee. 🙂
Blessings,

How wonderful to have such an opportunity to meet some of these people! I would really like to see this movie. Have you ever met Joni Eareckson Tada, or are you familiar with her story?
nashvillewife@gmail.com
Hi there!
I am familiar with her story. She attended this conference, but by the time I contacted her publicist to schedule an interview, she was already completed booked up.

When are we going to stop looking to Hollywood for spiritual encouragement?? Queen Latifah is possibly a lesbian and Jennifer Garner recorded a children's book with the "F" word in the title and other curse words in it. Let's be careful folks . . . . . . .
Jessica Bishop
Yea….I wanted to see this movie and then I saw the video of Jennifer reading the children's book. I know that we as Christians "mess up" but being in the spotlight, you have a HUGE audience that is looking up to you. I just wonder about her heart in the situation and if the children's book was filmed before she renewed her faith. We may see, but I'm not sure yet…

Hi Jessica,
I recently read in a news article that after filming "Miracles From Heaven" and getting to know the Beam family, Jennifer Garner and her children started going to church.

Curious does the film mention the name Jesus?
nashvillewife@gmail.com
I do believe it does. There are a couple church scenes and one where Annabel explains to a friend why she wears a cross necklace.

how appropriate would this movie be for a family with kids ages 4 9 and 12? they have seen soul surfer
nashvillewife@gmail.com
Aside from a few hospital scenes with needles, I think the movie would be completely appropriate for the two older kids, as long you watch it with them. The four-year-old would likely not understand it,
Let me know what you think of it!

This movie is not ment of any one under 12 years old. I saw it on the previews.
My sisters kids are 12 and 9 and she won't take them. They are too young and they wouldn't understand this movie.
