1. His generosity.
Mr. Handsome is always willing to help people out, whether it means giving of his time, money, or talents. Sometimes my frugality stands in the way of my ability to be generous with money, but Mr. Handsome’s example is helping me become a more generous giver. One my two brothers-in-law lives just under one hour away from us. He is single, and let’s just say that cooking is not one of his talents. We are his only family nearby, so we end up sharing meals with him multiple times a week. While we often joke about the fact that he enjoys raiding our well-stocked fridge and doesn’t always pay us for the food we provide, Mr. Handsome never asks his brother for money.
2. His patience.
As the oldest of seven children, Mr. Handsome has had plenty of chances to learn patience, and I am very grateful for that. Whenever I am feeling emotional, stressed out, or just overwhelmed in general, he is always willing to listen without making me feel shameful. If needed, he lovingly shares advice, but he doesn’t lose patience with me, even when my shortcomings are obvious.
3. His sense of humor.
Through the good times and bad, Mr. Handsome never loses his sense of humor. Even when we are walking through one of life’s storms, he has a way of shedding a ray of light by making remarks that are both lighthearted and tactful. And when he finds himself in an awkward situation, he quickly diffuses it with a witty remark. Mr. Handsome’s sense of humor reminds me to find positives in all situations and to remember that I am never without hope.

Ehi, Ellie, it would be nice if your husband was willing and had the possibility to share his three favorite things about you! 🙂

I would like to see a post on that too.

Although I understand that not everybody might feel comfortable sharing things on the internet, so if he is more reserved about it there's no pressure! 🙂
It was just because it would be sweet to see both sides!

I mentioned it to him, although he has been pretty busy with work, so he might not be able to get to it right away.

Love this post!! Got me really thinking about those attributes that I love about my husband.
1.first and foremost is his love and commitment to family. When we were courting I watched how he was with his family. I saw how important they are to him. With him family comes first.
2. His willingness to talk and have the best communication we can. Even though at times I know he wishes I would reach my word limit for the day LOL.
3.He has always had a desire to make our marriage has strong as possible and been willing to do things to work towards making our relationship better.

Thanks for sharing your three attributes, Shela! Your hubby sounds like a sweet guy. 🙂

I recognize your issue with frugality. It can make it difficult to be generous. It helped me to not make frugality my goal but for example: to save for paying off a debt, or to save for a holiday. It also helped me to realize that by being generous you strengthen the social relationships in your live and the worth of that cannot be measured in money. So now when you are generous with money you are not focused on 'this is not frugal of me' but on what you give and receive and that is often worth a lot more than the dollars that you would have otherwise saved.

That's a really great way to look at it. I'm going to try to remember that. Thank you!

1. He doesn't do anything half-way. Everything with great time and care as if presenting it to the Lord Himself, of course, one of his favorite verses is Colossians 3:23-24.
2. His love of people. He is very out going and rarely meets a stranger, but this goes beyond that. Our coming together was definitely not of the Lord. It was selfish and full of sin. We've since repented and turned our hearts completely towards God and have made it a goal to counsel couples who may end up down the path we took. He has such a strong desire to counsel men who have drifted from their own families and encourage them to be men of God.
3. His humor. His jokes are corny and make me roll my eyes incessantly, but they make him, him.

Thanks for sharing, Ayla! My husband gets his sense of humor from his dad. Is your father-in-law as much into cracking jokes as your hubby?

He is. I love seeing him get so tickled while telling humorous stories. Normally, he'll say silly stuff with a straight face, but when he gets tickled, it's adorable and hilarious.

Sounds just like my husband! I think "good joke teller" must be a gene. LOL

I'm guessing you were just kidding about asking family for money to eat over.I wouldn't dream of asking family for money if they ate at my place and they would never ask that of me either, that would be unheard of to ask ANYONE for money to eat over at my home, family friends, etc. no matter if it was 5 days a week or once a week.

And I wouldn't dream of eating at someone's house that often without offering something in return. Hope he at least does the dishes!

1) His commitment to family. He is doing everything he can to take care of our family. He works very hard, long hours everyday. He is always ready for bedtime stories with our daughter. He is there for me when I feel overwhelmed. He is always there to help our parents or sisters. He just love us with all his heart.
2) His brain! My husband is, by far, one of the most intelligent person I have ever met. His memory is amazing. He can fix problems that would leave most people completely helpless, and he finds the solution very quickly. He loves to learn about everything. Sometimes, when we have a discussion, if we have a question and he doesn't know the answer, he will stop everything and look for the answer. I have to explain to him that it can wait but no, he has to find the answer or he won't be able to think about anything else! Haha! Since he is such a brainiac, he sometimes has problems dealing with emotions. He doesn't always know how to react when he gets sad, angry or hurt. So he usually choose to keep it for himself and I always tell him that it's ok to have strong emotions. He told me once "I don't know what to do with emotions, I should not have any of it". I, on the other hand, can be veeeeeery emotional haha! So he helps me to calm down and think straight. I often say that in our relationship, he's the brain and I am the heart. We need each other to stay balanced, and together we are unstoppable.
3) his sense of humour, of course. He masters sarcasm like nobody else. I love it but I know some people have a hard time with it. I do face palms a lot but boy! Do I laugh with this man!! Hahaha!
4) and as a bonus: he is very handsome. 6'3, brown hair, green eyes… Even after almost 10 years I still have butterflies when I look at him.

Thanks for sharing, Josée. Our husbands sound a lot alike. My husband is also a master of sarcasm. I never would have known that it was possible to be tactfully sarcastic before I met him but he definitely is.
On a side note, my dad worked in Quebec for a couple years. It's a beautiful province!

I don't know how many times I told my husband ''I can't believe you just said that'' hahahaha!
Québec is a great place! Did he enjoy the winter weather? I love my incredibly cold winters, as it gives us such beautiful scenery!
Did you come here with him?

Lol!
He enjoys winter activities, so I think he did like the weather. My whole family went up there to go skiing at Tremblant. Very beautiful area, indeed! The job was temporary, so we didn't move up there with him. He commuted most weekends, but it was still very difficult.
