Turning 3 Under the Sea

Last year, I posted photos from my niece's "Turning Two with Winnie the Pooh" birthday party.

A few months ago, my sister-in-law Anne texted me and told me that she was planning a third birthday party for her daughter and needed a catchy theme. She was tickled with my Winnie the Pooh idea last year and was looking for another cute suggestion.

I mulled it over in my mind for about five minutes, thinking about words that rhyme with three, and came up with "Turning Three Under the Sea." Anne was thrilled, and she started planning immediately.

The party was a huge success, which didn't surprise me at all because Anne is Miss Party Planning Extraordinaire. Everyone met at the local family aquatic center to swim and then headed over to a park to eat. Here are some photos:

Sweet Sea Tea

 Ocean Snacks (chocolate covered pretzels)

 Table decor

Turning 3 Under the Sea welcome sign

 Anchor veggies

 Fish cupcakes

 Ocean Water

 Seaweed dip

 Fruit boat

Seashore pasta

You'd better start thinking of things that rhyme with four and five....

    1. Hi Jane,

The eyes she used are "candy eyes" ordered on Amazon (very cheap). You can also put a brown M&M over a blob of white frosting.

I'm blessed to have you as a reader. :)

    1. I know, she really did! Anne loves Pinterest, but she came up with a few of the ideas on her own.

      P.S. Nice pun. ;)

    1. He was born last fall. I've gotta come up with a theme for his party. I suggested Legos to Anne, and she really likes that idea. It doesn't rhyme, but he's a boy, so he doesn't need something super cutesy, just clever.

Does that little girl know how to read already? I remember a post about something like that. Anyway, she must have loved the birthday party! It looks so fun! I bet you had a fish pond with prizes on rods.

    1. Yep, she's working on it. (This is the post you're referring to: http://www.nashvillewife.com/2016/02/my-niece-reads-book.html)

Anne teaches her a few sight words each week. She did love the party. No fish pond with prizes on rods, but that would have been cute!

Hello Ellie, I wondered if you would ever care to do a day in the life vlog of your daily life? Or if that isn't something you'd care to do, how about an update to us on your book you are writing and a little more info on your adventures writing it so far and what it will include! Thank you! My name is Stacey and I'm in ND

    2. Hi Stacey,

We're still settling in after our move, so my schedule is pretty irregular. Lol. As far as the book, It has been a long process, and I don't have as much time to work on it as I would like, but it's going well. It will still be a while before it's done. Thanks for asking! :)
