Hey Ellie,
I want to learn french. What did you use to learn it?
nashvillewife@gmail.com
Hi there,
I studied French for five years in public school and then completed the final level of Rosetta Stone French (Homeschool edition) in 11th grade. It's a fun language!

I'm doing Rosetta Stone. Sometimes the speech part is a little embarrassing, but it's fun otherwise π
Also, I watch When Calls the Heart. The hair and costumes drive me insane, but I still like it because it's clean. Have you read the books? They're pretty good.

Yay! You used a few of my questions! π Thanks for reaching out to your readers and giving them (us) a glimpse of you and your life.

Alicia Mae
Aw, I loved the Little House books growing up! My little sister is reading them for the first time now and it is so much fun to share them with her.
Thanks for doing a second round of these, it's so much fun learning a little more about you! You should consider interviewing your husband sometime with these questions. Even if you don't share his responses on the blog, I'm sure that'd be a fun thing to do together! π
nashvillewife@gmail.com
That's a great idea, Alicia. What fun to watch your sister read those books. Have you ever seen the TV show?
Ellie
Alicia Mae
I actually haven't watched the TV show. I need to remedy that!
Anonymous
I watch Little House on the Hallmark channel and on INSP ever afternoon.
Anonymous
@Alicia Mae The TV show isn't very accurate to the books. Maybe in the beginning it was but after awhile they had to make up new story lines and add new characters. I enjoy though.
Anonymous
Yes, the TV series is quite different from the books. π However it's still a great family show, and I really enjoy watching it!
Shela G
So glad you did a second post on your favorites.π

Anne of Green Gables is a good one. Have you ever seen the TV show "Road to Avonlea"? It's based on Anne of Green Gables.
Ellie

Oh, I LOVE the Road to Avonlea series!!! My family has watched straight through the first four seasons, and has also seen most of seasons 5-7. Such a great family show! The series was actually based on the books The Story Girl, The Golden Road, Chronicles of Avonlea, and Further Chronicles of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery. (Don't you just love Gus & Felicity?! They have such a sweet love story…)

Awesome!! Thanks! ππ
Shela G

You really should make time for reading. Being a life-long learner and keeping up with your education means reading. If only the newspaper.
nashvillewife@gmail.com
I read the news and the Bible daily, and I read other books whenever I have the chance, but I agree that it would be great to read more.

Love your responses Ellie!
I really like your blogs.
I hope you will continue to blog about The duggars and yourself because just like The duggars, us readers feel like we know you.

I'm thrilled to hear that. Thank you for being a loyal reader!

Would you like to have a dog right now?
nashvillewife@gmail.com
I would, but we are currently renting, and I don't think a dog would be allowed. Our house is also very small. But we do have a few neighborhood cats that come to our back door to be fed, which I love. π
Ellie
Anonymous
Does that fall into the category of coveting something that is your neighbours? ( I am kind of kidding! )
Anonymous
Aw, those sound like sweet cats, Ellie! How fun that you can still enjoy them without the effort that goes into being a pet owner.
nashvillewife@gmail.com
LOL. And it's definitely true that it's nice to enjoy them without having the responsibility of taking care of them. Our neighbors seem to take great care of them. π

I recently discovered When Calls the Heart on Netflix and I enjoyed watching the first season. My husband is a miner and knows a lot about the history of mining so we enjoyed talking about what the show got right and wrong in portraying the coal mine. By the second season there were so many historical inaccuracies and inconsistencies in general, that I couldn't stand to watch past the first few episodes.
Anonymous
Yes, I definitely agree about how historically inaccurate the show is – particularly the second season. However the costuming is slightly better in Season 3, and the plots are more family-friendly and all centered in Hope Valley, which my family really enjoyed! We've gotten to the point where we can mostly overlook the flaws and just enjoy the sweet, wholesome themes of love, faith, and family.

Love Tim Conway & Don Knotts classic comedies – so fun!!! π
nashvillewife@gmail.com
Maybe those classic TV shows are available on Amazon? Just out of curiosity, are they appropriate for kids?
Ellie

I would guess that many of the Tim Conway/Don Knotts movies are available on Amazon. Some of my family's favorites include The Apple Dumpling Gang, The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, The Reluctant Astronaut, The Private Eyes, The Shakiest Gun in the West, and The Ghost & Mr. Chicken.
Yes, they are great for the kids! Our entire family enjoyed them, all the way from the teenagers down to our youngest, who's three. π

You can get the Carol Burnett show on DVD I would check the WalMart website or Sams club my have it. I brought it for my friend for her birthday and she loved it.

I've heard about it, but I haven't seen it. Do you watch it on TV or online?

My family found the complete series (6 seasons + 3 movies) for a really good price at Costco a few years ago, and we really enjoyed watching it as a family. I would say that in some ways the second three seasons are better than the first three though.

I think it's on Youtube, or it was a couple years ago.
