A few weeks ago, I posted about my struggle with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
To prevent my condition from worsening, I will be taking a two-week
blogging break. During that time, I plan to still post a few photos and updates to my Facebook page.

I am incredibly grateful for your prayers, well wishes, and advice, and I look forward to returning in a couple weeks. Please feel free to e-mail me at NashvilleWife@gmail.com if anything
comes up during my break. π

I pray you get better soon. I sure will miss all your blogs. Wear a wrist splint and they say ice your wrist. I hope that will help the symptoms.

Heat is better for carpal tunnel. I know from experience with it. That's what my PT recommended. Feel better soon, Ellie. Praying for you!

I meant to say heat is better, but ice helps too. This is what my PT said, and he said alternate heat and ice. I found it to confirm this on the University of Maryland Medical Center's website: "Contrast hydrotherapy — alternating hot and cold water applications — may offer relief from CTS symptoms. This approach decreases inflammation, offers pain relief, and enhances healing. Immerse your wrists fully in hot water for 3 minutes, followed by 1 minute in cold water, and repeat 3 times. Do this 2 to 3 times daily." It's just that sometimes too much cold doesn't allow for the best blood flow, and you'd want to be careful. Some people use parafin wax for heat. It's awesome.

I hope you get relief soon Ellie. I know braces on your wrists help and try ice like others mentioned.Miss you already!

Consider MASSAGE THERAPY! I posted a message about it on your entry about carpal tunnel, explaining my success with it. π

Hi Ellie. I've been reading your Duggar blog for quite some time but this is the first time I've been to your blog! Thanks for all your hard work. I wanted to tell you that you should just go get the carpal tunnel surgery, if you have insurance that will cover it. I had carpal tunnel pretty badly when I was pregnant with both of my kids. It got really bad after the second but I waited years to get it done because I was worried that I couldn't take care of my son. Now I can finally sew by hand again but my handwriting never came back. I waited too long. My hand cramps up after writing one or two lines. Take care of yourself. Terri

A break is a good idea. When you start blogging again can you write about your church VBS? Saw it on Facebook. Our church has a kids music camp.

Are you sure this isn't your excuse (because you don't need one) to celebrate your anniversary/pregnancy rest? π

I have the impression that Ellie is a much more honest and open person than you would suggest. I don't think she would make up such an elaborate plan only to take a break, which she could do without owning any explanation.

To anonymous June 10 at 11:27AM. You are very rude by saying that. Ellie is not even pregnant. Were do you get the idea she is pregnant?
Ellie hasn't even been married a year yet. She probably want's to wait tell they save some money first.

I've been wondering if you and Mr. Handsome are leaving your family size entirely up to the Lord, or if you are intentionally waiting to start a family???
Anonymous
Wow, what a personal question! And an answer that can definitely be kept private. Don't feel obligated to answer that.
Anonymous
Agreed! Who would think to ask such a personal question!
Anonymous
Yes, but everyone needs to remember that if Ellie didn't want this question posted, then she didn't need to post it.

Ellie has said in the past that she is leaving it up to God. She has also said she isn't pregnant.
